Catrina: IN SPACE!

by on April 18, 2012

This is not a further episode in the Catrina Chronicles, although more episodes are indeed coming soon. In fact, while Catrina hasn’t been onstage for a while, what with Ermingard’s subplot quest for the Golden Spleen, she’s about to make a dramatic return. Why, you ask? Because, in the real world, her NaNoWriMo ’11 novel, Catrina: IN SPACE, has now officially gone live. It’s not on Amazon yet, it’s only on the CreateSpace e-store page, but still. Catrina’s very own full-length novel is now available for all you loyal Catriniacs out there to buy for your very own. There’s no movie adaptation yet, sadly, nor yet a comic book followup, but there’s a rousing argument on the dedication page between me and Catrina. Also, there’s space hamsters. And a towel!

Now, you’re probably asking yourself, where does Catrina: in Space fit into the vast sweep of the Catrina Chronicles? Well, the short answer is that the events in the story take place shortly after Bam, said Catrina, and before Ermingard and the Quest for the Golden Spleen. On the other hand, the episodes between those two are in a sort of alternate continuity where Catrina had some lovely thoughts on the holiday season, and also lost her spleen, which led to the aforementioned questing by Ermingard. So, when Catrina rejoins the main continuity, she won’t have her spleen, but she will have a whole new change in her personal life, which probably would’ve gotten a good many likes on Facebook, if she had a Facebook, which she doesn’t. Medieval princess and all. What is that change, you ask? Well, you’ll have to read Catrina: IN SPACE to find out. I can’t reveal all the spoilers, you know.

At any rate, I want to say thanks so much to Trisha, Jes, and the Hook, for being wonderful Catriniacs and following Catrina during her many random adventures. If there were a real Spork Brigade, you guys would all be members. And you wouldn’t be working for the Dark Qirpysnirket either. I don’t think. 🙂

  1. LOL, this is so cool! I’ll definitely be putting up a post on my blog about Catrina in Space when these A-Z shenanigans are over! 😉 For now I shall admire my shiny copy of the book and anticipate the moment when I can read it!

    • Yay! 🙂 Be sure and critique it thoroughly, with an abundance of red ink and marginal notations. 😛

      • I can’t write in a BOOK. gasp! 😉 I will take notes though 😀

      • I have that exact philosophy. With the exception of law school casebooks, but even then, the most I’ll allow myself to do is underlining. I don’t go in for the highlighting stuff. And writing in a actual book-type book….goodness no. 😛

  2. CONGRATS!!!
    That’s awesome news!
