This post was written for Trifecta’s weekly prompt. Enjoy!

“You want to do what?” Winifred exclaimed, her eyes wide as dinner plates.

Farthington Milroy sighed. He felt he had already explained all this. But it was so hard to find good minions nowadays, so, with infinite patience, he went over it again. “I’m going to take this dead manatee bit, and place it with the other dead manatee bits, and the brain of a dolphin, and I’m going to zap the whole affair with lots and lots of electricity, and that should naturally give life to my greatest creation: Frankenmanatee!” He attempted to do a proper mad-scientist laugh, but choked up with a sudden cough and couldn’t follow through.

“Oh,” said Winifred, staring at the dead manatee bits laid out on the table. Her stomach gave a sort of gurgle inside her, like an unhappy ferret who has had the misfortune of being trapped in a dishwasher. Winifred’s face went a funny sort of pale-green like an underdone pea, she made an sudden “urk” sound, and then dashed off for the nearest bathroom.

Farthington sighed, as the dulcet tones of Winifred’s puking filled his lair. Perhaps he should place a call to the Igors’ Union again. This one just didn’t have the heart for her work.

  1. Yeah, I think I’d be off to the bathroom too!

  2. Oh I really loved this. “The Igor’s Union” – priceless. Great job!

    • Thanks! Glad you liked the Igors’ Union; I may use them in future stories. πŸ˜›

  3. He’r right, good minions are in short supply. As always, I love the quirkiness of this world you have created. Thanks for sharing with us again. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the new challenge.

    • Quirky worlds are the most fun to create. Someday I’ll have to write a non-quirky world just as a challenge. πŸ™‚

  4. lol. Love the image of the ferry in a dishwasher. Memorable for sure!

  5. Frankenmanatee…hahaha! Igor’s union really should be more selective, I think. They have to have the stomach and the heart for that type of “work” πŸ™‚
