This story was written for Trifecta’s weekend prompt, which was to write a 33 word confession. It’s also a continuation of the Volcano Rain series. Enjoy!

“I never wanted this,” Winifred mused sadly . “I was a mad scientist’s assistant. Best ever. But now…I’m Death.” She faced Rain, her eyes haunted. “You have no idea what that means.

Oh dear. Has Rain met her match? Hope not.

    Death is always someone. ):

  8. Ooooo. Creepy. Also: funny to think of there being a ‘best ever’ mad scientist’s assistant. I wonder what that awards night looks like. 🙂 Thanks for linking up. Don’t forget to come back and vote.

    • I’d imagine it’d look like the Oscars, but with significantly more people named Igor. 😀

  9. I wish I could craft something so powerful using so little. Well done, Michael.

  10. What does that mean? Great story.
