Civilized

This weekend’s Trifextra prompt was to write thirty-three words inspired by the idiom “third time’s the charm”. This bit of dialogue sprung to mind. Basically I pictured the bad guys of Independence Day, but a bit more…erudite. ๐Ÿ˜›

“โ€œI say, Q’irpington, shall we invade Jupiter next?โ€

โ€œI should say not, sir. Bit gassy, you know.โ€

โ€œSaturnโ€™s out too, then. What about the little blue one?โ€

โ€œBrilliant choice, sir.โ€

โ€œNaturally, Q’irpington. Naturally.โ€

  1. Invading aliens, British Accents. It works!

  2. You have mad sci-fi skills, my friend!

  3. I say . . . I can just picture the alien with a monocle ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Haha! Brilliant dialogue! “I say!” (I laughed so hard at that.)

    Nice work. ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. I wonder if they drink gin?

  6. Hahahaha! Awesome dialogue. My three year old is always telling people that our planet is not gassy, which he sees as a good thing. Not always, I suppose… ๐Ÿ˜‰ Great take on the prompt!

  7. Really enjoyed this conversation. Well done.

Earth is gassy too, in it’s way haha ๐Ÿ˜€ Very cute!

  9. Funny exchange. Although, I might be the only person who hasn’t seen Independence Day ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I may be the only person who hasn’t seen Pirates of the Caribbean, or The Matrix, so I feel your pain.

  10. I guess that would be the best process of elimination! Terrific.

    • Or at least the moons around the gaseous planets….lots of lovely moons, you’d think the aliens would pick those, but nooooo.

  11. I loved this! I literally laughed out loud. Well played.

    • That is my goal in life; to make people laugh out loud. With me, not at me. ๐Ÿ˜›
