This post was written for the penultimate Trifecta weekly prompt. Enjoy!

“Satisfy me!” Cthulhu demanded, gurgling in unfathomable horror.

Charlotte stepped unsteadily forward. “I’m sorry, but all I have is a blueberry muffin.”

It turned out that Cthulhu was quite fond of blueberry muffins.

  1. Ohh… Lovecraft-esque. This makes me appreciate blueberry muffins all the more.

  2. “gurgling in unfathomable horror” sets the scene so well….it’s a good thing that Cthulhu liked blueberry muffins or Charlotte may have met with an unseemly demise 😉

  3. I dig blueberry muffins too.

  4. Thank goodness he didn’t prefer banana nut or she’d be in bad shape!

  5. *hahaha* Lucky for her! Great post!

  6. Ah, the power of the blueberry muffin. Of course, you had me at Cthulhu. 😉

I dunno. I have a feeling he liked them as a garnish. Am I wrong?
    Great fun, Michael!

  10. Dude…blueberry muffins AND a desire for world annihilation?! Me ‘n Cthulhu would totally be besties 😉

  11. I’m glad Charlotte escapes (or does she?!) from gurgling in unfathomable horror herself! Like Kymm alluded, maybe the muffin is just the first course. 🙂 On another note, I really should brush up on my Lovecraft.

  12. Lucky she had those!Goes to show a sweet tooth is not such a bad thing to have after all-even that Cthulhu would testify ;-)Loved this-deliciously dark or is it the opposite? 🙂

  13. I never would have guessed it. Unless he prefers it as an after meal palate cleanser.
