Kids These Days

by on August 19, 2015

“Mother?”

“Not now, Meg. There’s a temporal rift in Albuquerque, and I can’t get the Rift-Patcher Beam to energize.”

“Can’t you just re-polarize the flanging scransoms?”

“What?”

Honestly. Let me.”

Being a superhero mom sucks when your kid is smarter than you.

  1. Kind of sucks when you aren’t a super hero and your kid appears to be smarter than you as well. 😛

Very clever! I like it! 🙂

Difficult to keep pace with a superhero kid.

    • I imagine it’s difficult to keep pace with any kid, but superpowers would make it more complicated. 🙂

  4. Kids smarter than you (period) sucks when they know it and have no qualms rubbing it in your face!

This is great! Love how the problem is the solution in this take on fixing something. Plus, I’m a mom and love the sci-fi elements.

  6. “Meg”. Another Wrinkle In Time reference? Am I crazy or crazy astute?

    • Close. I don’t think I intentionally meant to reference L’Engle here; when Meg grows up, she assumes the name Meg Atomic. I’ve always liked the name, though, so maybe subconsciously….

      • Next up in the Evinrude saga: Evinrude tries to save his beloved Eulalie by shrinking to a microscopic level and trying to resurrect her mitochondria!

      • To quote Frederick in “Young Frankenstein”, “IT. COULD. WORK!!!”
